Ceramic Saddles
Ideally, ceramic saddles are used to ensure efficient mass transfer and low-pressure drop. They are also good for distillation especially when one is working with acids. they are made from the porcelain chemical and therefore, have a high resistance to all acids.
Ceramic saddles are typically shaped like small saddles, hence the name. They have a curved shape with multiple internal and external surfaces. This shape provides a large surface area for contact between the vapor and liquid phases.
Applications
Ceramic saddles are commonly used in industries such as petrochemical, chemical, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. They are employed in processes like distillation, absorption, and stripping to facilitate the separation and purification of different chemical compounds.
